Bayern Munich back-up goalkeeper Alexander Nübel wants playing time and is not afraid to leave Bavaria to make that happen.
Whether it is a loan assignment or a sale, it appears that the 24-year-old is determined to avoid spending another season backing up Manuel Neuer. With Bayern Munich’s recent hiring of Julian Nagelsmann, however, Nübel wants to at least hear the new manager’s plan before packing his bags.
According to Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg, Nübel wants to have a conversation with Nagelsmann before deciding on what the next step will be in his career:
Update #Nübel: He wants to talk with Nagelsmann. However, he still plans to be loaned out for 2 years. But: JN wanted to get Nübel to Leipzig already. Talks were held at the time with chief scout Mitchell, who is now sports director in Monaco. #MeineBayernWoche @SPORT1

Nübel has been heavily linked with AS Monaco, where Paul Mitchell (references in the tweet above) is the sporting director and former Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac is the head coach, along with RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
In any event, it appears that Nübel is determined to ride out Neuer’s contract — which ends after the 2022/2023 season — elsewhere.
