Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting knew he had big shoes to fill in trying to match Robert Lewandowski’s production, but the back-up knew he would give his best effort.
While Choupo-Moting was able to find the back of the net in Bayern Munich’s 3-2 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain, the veteran knows his team could have done better offensively.
“At the end of the day, we didn’t score enough goals,” said Choupo-Moting (as captured by Tz). “I’ve just seen the statistics myself, it’s insane. It’s really bitter, it was a great fight today. It was a great game for the neutral fan, a bitter defeat for the Bayern fan.”
As bitter as the loss was for Choupo-Moting, the 32-year-old was able to catch up with some of his old friends with PSG before the game. While Choupo-Moting might miss his friend, he is happy to be part of Bayern Munich.
“I said it beforehand, I was happy to see the guys again,” Choupo-Moting said. “But I’m happy and proud to play for Bayern.”
