Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is never one to rest on his laurels or pat himself on the back for a job well done.
When asked at his press conference earlier today about how much last season’s Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain might factor into Bayern Munich’s planning for Wednesday’s battle, Flick was quick to point out that none of that matters any more.
“It is irrelevant for us,” said Flick (as captured by Tz). “It’s a new game, different players, Paris has a new coach. We have to be very focused on the games.”

Flick knows Paris Saint-Germain will present an immense challenge to his squad — particularly to his defense.
“We have conceded fewer goals,” Flick said. “We stand more compactly, are more cohesive, and try to close the openings. That will also be important for tomorrow.”
As for his offense, Flick thinks confidence will be key for his team.
“We need to be in good order with possession of the ball and think about the rest of the defense,” said Flick. “But we should attack with confidence and do it with more determination than we did against Leipzig.”
