RB Leipzig was obviously disappointed to drop a 1-0 decision to Bayern Munich.

Not only did Die Roten Bullen lose a hard-fought game, but the defeat effectively made the seven-point gap between the two squads a very difficult number to overcome in the season’s closing weeks.

RB Leipzig star Marcel Sabitzer thought his team dominated the match, but just could not find that one goal to draw the teams even on the scoreboard.

“Bayern scored from one chance. But we really showed a very good game and were very dominant,” Sabitzer said (as captured by Tz). “The fact that we didn’t score a goal now hurts a lot.”

Sabitzer was arguably RB Leipzig’s best player on the day. The highly-sought after midfielder had 81 touches, two key passes, completed his only cross, put two of his three shots on target, won five of seven ground duels, and also won two of four aerial duels (per SofaScore.com).

It was a complete effort for Sabitzer, but he was still disappointed that his team came up short.

“After the break, we came out of the dressing room well and had to score a goal,” said Sabitzer, who has been linked to several Premier League teams. “We have to let the defeat sink in now, but we will not let up. We definitely want to finish second.”
