According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is set to officially sign his deal with Real Madrid in May. The first reports of Alaba agreeing to a verbal deal with Los Blancos emerged as far back as January, but it looks like everything could reach its final stage in the next few days:

Alaba’s tenure at Bayern Munich will be remembered as wildly successful and the Austrian international will likely go down as one of the club’s all-time best players once all is said and done.
Regardless, Alaba is set to cash-in on what will likely be the last “big deal” of his career. Throughout his transfer saga, Alaba was heavily linked to both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Liverpool all in the secondary group of clubs.
Alaba has allegedly always wanted to play in Spain, so Real Madrid will represent a chance for the 28-year-old to cross that accomplishment off of his bucket list.
