Bayern Munich had some bad news this morning when Jerome Boateng left training with a foot injury, but there is actually some good information regarding injuries emanating from Säbener Straße.
According to a report from kicker, Niklas Süle has progressed in his rehab enough that he is expected back for next weekend’s match against Borussia Mönchengladbach:
Niklas Süle (25), who is in training after his muscle fiber tear, this process is going well. The defender will be restored until the next game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (Saturday, May 8th).
The news on Douglas Costa is not-so-good, but wholly expected. Costa, who will head back to Juventus this summer (before presumably being shipped off once again), is not expected to take the pitch again for Bayern Munich this season:
For Douglas Costa (30), however, the season is over. The hairline crack that the Brazilian winger suffered in mid-February is still preventing him from making a comeback. The loan, which Juventus Turin brought to Munich for the current season at the beginning of October, will return to his home club after 20 mandatory appearances, but only one over the full 90 minutes, as well as one goal and one assist.
For Costa, his second turn in Bavaria was a dud. Out of form and then injured, Costa never really got on track for Bayern Munich.
