It looks as if we can count Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski as one of the players who is looking forward to the chance of working under Julian Nagelsmann.

After years of competing against Nagelsmann during his respective tenures at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, Lewandowski sat down with Sport Bild and gave his observations on what he has noticed from Nagelsmann-led teams overs the years.

“He always manages to raise teams to a level that you wouldn’t expect,” said Lewandowski. “The performance of Nagelsmann’s teams is mostly above expectations and above the sum of the quality of the individual players.”

Lewandowski’s role under Nagelsmann will be interesting to see play out. The 33-year-old manager could opt to leave Lewandowski as a single center-forward or could opt to give him a partner.

Whatever the case, the Polish Hitman will assuredly be one weapon that Nagelsmann will be eager to work with rather than against.
