Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller came away frustrated after his squad dropped a 2-1 decision to Mainz 05, in which the Bavarians often looked slow, lethargic, and dull.
The veteran knows better than to unravel after one bad result, but he still felt like his team was just “off” from the get-go.

“Let me put it this way: We tried it, but in the end we deservedly lost,” said Müller to Sky during a postgame interview (as captured by Abendzeitung). “Our ball control and distribution were probably half a second slower than usual today. Mainz defended their goal passionately. We tried, but in the end we didn’t deserve to take a point.”
Müller and his teammates will surely be appreciative of the gap in the Bundesliga schedule that will occur next weekend. Perhaps with a little rest, Bayern Munich will get its timing down and its legs back. It has been a tough one-year stretch for the boys and a little rest and relaxation could go a long way.
