Bayern Munich and midfielder Javi Martinez will be parting ways this summer and the 32-year-old has at least one familiar suitor making overtures his way.
Per AS, Athletic Bilbao is among clubs from Europe, the United States, and Asia who could make a move for Martinez:
The former Lion, who was already hovered in the last winter market, finishes his contract at Bayern, where he has won absolutely everything in his eight seasons at the German club, and would leave for free, although his current tab is very high. Javi Martinez, logically, has plenty of market in Europe, USA and Asia. He has never openly declared his preferences to continue his career.
His status in the market remains almost intact after he has been given minutes at the mighty German club, even as a center forward in the Champions League. He has played 17 Bundesliga games this season and eight in Europe, with a remarkable performance.
Martinez has been very solid this season when called upon and does appear to have something left in the tank. It will be good for the veteran to end his career on the pitch rather than on the bench.
