Bayern Munich put their loss against Hoffenheim at the weekend behind them and beat Turbine Potsdam 3-2.

Dina Orschmann opened the scoring for Potsdam in the 7th minute, and it looked like Bayern’s problems were going to continue. However, Lea Schüller struck back just two minutes later to equalize the score. In the 19th minute, Lina Magull put Bayern up 2-1 from the penalty spot that definitely helped ease some pressure on the Bavarians.

Hanna Glas put Bayern up 3-1 in the 56th minute, but Potsdam pulled one back instantly in the 58th minute through Selina Cerci. Bayern, however, was able to hold on for the remainder of the match, pulling out the 3-2 win.

“Now, it’s time to regenerate, and then we’ll concentrate on preparing for Chelsea,” Sarah Zadrazil said. “To be in a Champions League semi-final is something special.”

Bayern XI: Grohs - Glas, Laudehr (46. Boye), Hegering, Simon - Zadrazil, Magull - Lohmann, Dallmann (68. Asseyi), Beerensteyn (61. Bühl) - Schüller (80. Vilhjálmsdóttir)

Bayern’s lead at the top of the Frauen Bundesliga is back up to five points; however, Wolfsburg have a match in hand. They will play their next game on Sunday April 25 against Duisburg.

The next time Bayern take the field will be in the Semifinals of the 2020/21 UEFA Women’s Champions League. On Sunday April 25, Bayern will host Chelsea in the first leg of their tie. It’s a MASSIVE match for Bayern as they look to qualify for the UWCL Final for the first time ever.
