It appears that Bayern Munich backup goalkeeper, Alexander Nübel, is still looking for a new place to play next season. According to a report from Sport1, the latest rumors indicate that offers are coming in from Olympique Marseille of France’s Ligue 1 and interestingly enough, also from Borussia Dortmund.

Would the former Schalke and current Bayern man go to the two teams’ biggest rival? Having played for nearby Schalke, Dortmund has had their eyes on Nübel’s development from an early stage:

Bayern Munich’s front office is determined that despite Nübel’s frustrations, he is still their man to back up Manuel Neuer. Neuer, who has been as dominant as ever, continues to keep Nübel off the pitch. Dortmund will surely keep their eyes on the situation as the drama continues to play out.

Despite the new rumors and reports, AS Monaco — also of France’s Ligue 1 — appears to remain the favorites to land Nübel next season. Unless he terminates his contract, Nübel will likely go on loan and eventually be back in Bavarian red in the future.
