Nübel unhappy with situation (@iMiaSanMia)
The situation surrounding Bayern Munich back-up goalkeeper Alexander Nübel appears to be getting more serious as the season draws to an end.
Sport 1 reporter Florian Plettenberg said on his “Meine Bayern Woche” podcast (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia) that Nübel does not appear to want to sit another season behind Manuel Neuer, but Neuer has shown very little sign of slowing down. Like many people thought when Nübel first made the decision to sign with Bayern Munich…why did he make this move in the first place?
At 25-year-old, Nubel is clearly in his athletic prime. As a starting-caliber goalkeeper, Nübel is simply wasting time sitting behind Neuer. While the move was savvy for Bayern Munich, you really must question what Nübel and his advisors thought would happen when he first agreed to transfer to Bayern Munich from Schalke 04:
The management of Alexander Nübel wants a final decision regarding the player's future within the next 3 weeks. Nübel is very unhappy with his situation and wants to go out on loan if things don't change [ Meine Bayern-Woche, @Plettigoal]https://t.co/QRemuK4JIH

It is clear that Nübel needs to move on – at least via loan – to continue his progression. Surely, the goalkeeper has shown enough to at least warrant being in the discussion to succeed Neuer, but there is no concrete timeline for when exactly that will happen.

Based on the alleged salary demands of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid could be dropping out of the race:
Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly been priced out of a move for Erling Braut Haaland because of the Borussia Dortmund striker’s wage demands. The La Liga giants both held talks with the Norway international’s agent Mino Raiola and father Alf-Inge earlier this month over a summer transfer.
However, Goal claims that Haaland’s €35m a year (£30m) salary could force Barca and Madrid to look elsewhere for a new striker.
Werner battered by Dutch media (Sport Bild)
If anyone has had a tough in the media this season, it is Chelsea’s Timo Werner, who seems to irk the English, German, and now Dutch media. Pundit Rafael Van der Vaart described Werner as a blind horse:
Now Rafael Van der Vaart (38) also shoots against Timo Werner (25). The German international is having a hard time at Chelsea: In 29 appearances in the Premier League, the striker only scored five times for the Blues. The last goal he scored against Newcastle in mid-February. In the premier class, he met three times in the group stage.
Ex-professional Van der Vaart describes Werner as a “blind horse!”
The Dutchman about the Dutch television station “Ziggo”: “If I were Thomas Tuchel, I would always choose Hakim Ziyech, simply because he is by far the best option.” Van der Vaart played for Tottenham Hotspur on the island between 2010 and 2012. He scored a total of 24 goals in the Premier League. The ex-Leipzig star is still a long way from that. Small ray of hope: Werner presented at least nine goals this season.
