Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is making serious progress with his rehab efforts.
The Polish Hitman is back and working with the ball and while he has been ruled out for Wolfsburg, it is a very positive sign to see that Lewandowski is making strides in his mission to return in time to make a serious run at Gerd Müller’s Bundesliga single-season goal scoring record:
While the prevailing notion has been that Lewandowski is targeting an April 24th return against Mainz 05, the striker could potentially be making Bayern Munich rethink those plans.
As Flick stated in his press conference earlier today, the team will “have to wait until Tuesday” to make a decision on Lewandowski’s availability for the team’s midweek clash with Bayer Leverkusen.
The absence of Lewandowski has obviously been noticeable for Bayern Munich. While Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been an adequate reserve, the overall package that Lewandowski brings to the pitch cannot be matched.
