Former Bayern Munich manager and current Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is busy preparing his team to face-off with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinals, but indicated he was looking forward to seeing some old friends in the next round of the competition.

Guardiola felt like the Bavarians were the “best team in the world” and wanted to stand in the coaching box of the Allianz Arena once more.

“We saw how strong they are (on Tuesday),” Guardiola said to Sky about PSG (as captured by kicker). “(Kylian) Mbappé and Neymar are very good. (PSG) eliminated the best team in the world for me.”

Guardiola went further to compliment the bravery that Bayern Munich played with despite facing a tough team and while also dealing with numerous injuries to key players.

“Bayern must be incredibly proud of themselves. Everyone wants to win. But if I had to lose, then I would want to lose like they did,” said Guardiola. “I would have loved to go to Munich — but maybe next year.”
