The unfortunate news broke at an awful time last week for Bayern Munich: Jerome Boateng’s contract was not going to be renewed.
The story came out last Monday and Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic reportedly dropped the official news on Boateng after the final warm-up session ahead of last Wednesday’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Thomas Müller knows how valuable Boateng has been to Bayern Munich over the years and will be sad to see him go — even if he won’t comment formally on any player’s contract dealings.
“I have experienced a lot with him. But it would be completely wrong for players to comment on contract matters, because then things would go as they are right now (laughs),” Thomas Müller said (as captured by Tz). “I caught myself there. That’s why I don’t do that. I really enjoy playing with him. He’s in great physical shape. He has a lot of fun with the team. He came back from a valley and is an integral part of our team.”
