He’s back...but still not available for the Bayern Munich vs. Paris Saint-Germain Champions League tilt.

Per news from the club website, Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has resumed training. Lewandowski hit the practice pitch and completed his first, formal running session since sustaining a knee injury while on international break with Poland:

Robert Lewandowski is working hard on his comeback from a knee injury and Bayern’s top scorer completed his first running session in the Munich snow on Monday morning. Lewandowski returned injured from international duty with Poland and will again not be available for the Champions League quarter-final second leg away at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The key part of the release from FCBayern.com for most fans is that there is no chance that Lewandowski will be available to play against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday. Bild captured some video of the session:

Despite that, Lewandowski’s return to individual training should be considered good news. The 32-year-old hit social media last week with a picture of him working out at what we can assume is his home gym. You will notice the bandage on his right knee, which could mean Lewandowski has received an injection aimed at expediting the healing process — or he cold have scraped his knee (there is no point in speculating on that...progress is progress!).
