Inevitably the questions regarding Hansi Flick’s future at Bayern Munich were bound to reach the locker room and both captain Manuel Neuer and vice-captain Thomas Müller had to deal with the media speculation after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Union Berlin.
Each player, however, took a different path in responding to the questions. Neuer reiterated just how good Flick has been for Bayern Munich and insisted the players in the locker room are not gossiping about all of the latest news regarding the situation.

“I think that Hansi Flick is the right coach for us,” Neuer told Sky after yesterday’s game (as captured by Abendzeitung). “You have seen how successful we have been. We will be happy if it continues like this. (The subject of Flick’s future is ) not as big as you can imagine. Nevertheless, all things that are beating down on us from the outside are, of course, not necessary.”
Müller, meanwhile, followed Flick’s lead and kept his response brief: “I’ll keep it with our trainer: Next question.”
If one thing is clear from those responses, the Bayern Munich players are not going to let the situation become a distraction to them.
