In a match full of late drama, Bayern Munich II came from behind twice to take a point off of Ingolstadt in 3.Liga action. Due to their precarious place in the table, every point gained from here on out could be the point that saves them from a potential relegation back to the Regionalliga.

Caniggia Elva opened the scoring for Ingolstadt in the 75th minute. Ten minutes later, Sarpreet Singh equalized from the penalty spot following a hand ball. Just when Bayern though they were going to cruise through the final five minutes to gain a point, Ingolstadt had another ideas.

Fatih Kaya scored in the 89th minute to surely give Ingolstadt all three points. However, Bayern II have a big, young centerback named Jamie Lawrence. In stoppage time, Lawrence poked the ball over the line for his first goal of the season and rescued a desperate point for Bayern II.

The match was always going to be a struggle for Bayern II due to call-ups to the first team (Christopher Scott, Dimitri Oberlin, Josip Stanisic and Rémy Vita) and injuries (Thorben Hoffmann, Timo Kern, Malik Tillman, Lenny Borges). Also, Fiete Arp was suspended due to yellow card accumulation, and we saw the 3.Liga debut of both Lasse Günther and Justin Che.

Bayern XI: Schneller - Waidner, Lawrence, Feldhahn, Lungwitz (90. Che) - Stiller, Welzmüller (78. Ontužāns), Rhein (61. Singh) - Kühn (61. Günther), Jastremski, Sieb

The point keeps Bayern II one point clear of the relegation zone. However, as has been the case for the entire season, the 3.Liga table is incredible tight: 11th place Waldhof Mannheim has 39 points, 16th place Bayern II has 34 points, and 19th place Lübeck has 30 points.

Things don’t get easier for Bayern II. The next match sees the young Bavarians take on second place Hansa Rostock, and Bayern II will play ninth place FSV Zwickau just four days later.
