Different formations; several changes; mounting injury problems — these issues inevitably lead to problems and today was no different; Bayern Munich played out a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin. According to expected goals, the result might look fair. However, Bayern really dominated the game and should have held out for the win.
FT: Bayern 1-1 Union Berlin
Bayern Stats: 59.5% possession, 15 shots, 2 SOG, 84% passing
Union Stats: 40.5% possession, 7 shots, 2 SOG, 75% passing
*It is better to assess who was available than who wasn’t for Bayern; the list of absences was incredibly long.
*Tiago Dantas was handed a rare start as was Josip Stanisic of FC Bayern II.
*Due to RB Leipzig’s win over a Werder Bremen side which might get dragged into the relegation fight now, Bayern’s lead at the top of the table is cut to five points.
