Kingsley Coman was subbed off at half time during Saturday’s match against Union Berlin due to a probable injury. Coman appeared to hurt himself in the late stages of the first half, and received medical attention immediately. However, Hansi Flick kept him on the pitch and he managed to fight through until half time.
During half time, Flick made the decision to take the French winger off and replace him with Leroy Sané. Sané was the only real solution on the wing as Douglas Costa is also out with an injury and Serge Gnabry stays out of the lineup on Covid protocol.
There have been increasing discussions of mismanaging player fatigue and injuries as Bayern Munich continue to be plagued by a string of injuries. Let’s hope Coman did not aggravate any injury by staying on the pitch until half time. For now, he joins the club’s list of walking wounded.
Update
Looks like Coman will still play against PSG. Let’s hope it’s true.
The plan for Kingsley Coman was to come off at half time anyway. His knee problem is nothing serious and as of now, he's not a doubt for Tuesday's game in Paris [@RMCsport] pic.twitter.com/Cm4oBvMycd
