Per a report from German outlet Sportbuzzer, Borussia Dortmund could be looking at Bayern Munich center-back Jerome Boateng to help bolster their squad for next season.

If true, the move would reunite the center-back tandem of Mats Hummels and Boateng, who starred for Bayern Munich just a few seasons ago — and also for Germany on the international stage:

Jerome Boateng no longer has a future at FC Bayern beyond this season. According to SPORTBUZZER, BVB is discussing signing the defender.

As SPORTBUZZER has learned, Borussia Dortmund is considering signing the 32-year-old! Boateng would have to accept an extremely performance-based contract at BVB. At BVB, they are looking for more leaders to lead the many top talents. Certainly, Boateng would have to make concessions in terms of salary (earns an estimated 12 million euros at Bayern), but he would be available free of charge and would probably accept an extremely performance-based contract.

Sportbuzzer also indicated that recent rumors have linked to Boateng to FC Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, Hertha Berlin, or even a move to MLS.

It seems as if a move to FC Barcelona won’t be happening for Boateng, but that still could leave the veteran some interesting possibilities and there have not even been any Italian clubs involved in the mix as of yet.
