The Bayern Munich front office have acknowledged the rumors regarding the potential transfer of Erling Haaland to the Bavarian capital. In an interview given to SportBild, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge responded to the speculations and said that there are no links between the player and the club whatsoever.
Rummenigge went on to explain how the presence of Robert Lewandowski makes it unnecessary to even ponder the need of a new striker at the moment. In fact, this has been his default answer to this specific question in almost every interview for a while.
He said, “Where are the rumors coming from? I don’t know. I can only say one thing: We have the world best player in this position. Robert Lewandowski has a contract until 2023. And I’m convinced: With his professionalism — when you just see, how he trains and takes care of his body — the end is not yet anticipated. ”
“He is right now on the best path to dispute Gerd Müller’s benchmark of 40 goals. He’s at the peak of his career”, added KHR. Although, with only three games left to play after he gets back from his injury, will Lewandowski be able to break Müller’s record?
Rummenigge’s statement came right after Florian Plettenberg mentioned in his podcast how the transfer of the Norwegian is currently a topic of discussion for the Bayern bosses.
So, destination Premier League?
