The Croatian international likely won’t be around until the late fall.

Bayern Munich announced on Tuesday that Ivana Rudelić has torn the ACL in her left knee and will be out for “months”. The midfielder was injured in Bayern’s recent Frauen Bundesliga win against Duisburg on Sunday.

Since rejoining Bayern this winter after six and a half years away, Rudelić has featured in 10 games over the last two months. She was developing into being a key cog for Jens Scheuer’s team. Losing her is removing a critical component of the team’s midfield as they head into the busiest, most important part of the season.

Rudelić is the third Bayern player to tear her ACL this season joining Giulia Gwinn and Jovana Damnjanović on the sidelines. This is yet another debilitating long-term injury to this Bayern team.

Bayern’s next match is Thursday, April 1 against FC Rosengård in the second leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarterfinal tie. The Bavarians won the first leg 3-0.
