Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is already back in Germany to begin rehab on his knee, but he might just have gotten away from Poland’s national team in the nick of time.

In addition to the unfortunate knee injury suffered by Lewandowski, Poland had two more players and a team official test positive for COVID-19.

Jakub Kwiatkowski, media officer for the Polish Football Association and also team manager of Poland men’s national team, dropped this tweet with the information:

The Polish national team has undergone further tests for coronavirus. Unfortunately, the results in Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kamil Piątkowski are positive. Due to the fact that Krychowiak is recovered, we have started talks with UEFA in order to clarify the matter and admit him to the match

Unfortunately, my test result was also positive. Other members of the training staff tested negative.

To sum that up, players Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kamil Piątkowski tested positive for COVID-19, as did Kwiatkowski.

Earlier, Poland had two other positive tests in back-up goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski and Mateusz Klich.
