Being head coach of the German national team affords Joachim Löw the built-in advantage of being able to leverage much of Bayern Munich’s talent base.
With Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Niklas Süle, and Jamal Musiala on his latest international call sheet, Löw was able to populate a good portion of his roster with the Munich boys.
Still, Löw appreciates the way the Bayern Munich players connect on the pitch.
“The Bayern lads all have a connection on the pitch, which really helps us given all the changes to our starting XI in recent years,” Löw said (as captured by the DFB). “At the end of the day though it is the players’ individual quality that matters – which team they play for is not a criterium for me when it comes to team selection.”
To think, Löw didn’t even call all of the Bayern Munich players that he probably should have as well. Things might even be going better for the 2014 World Cup winning manager.
