When the news broke on Tuesday that Bayern Munich reportedly had interest in Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez, it sparked a huge debate among Bayern Munich fans.
Per Bild, however, that debate can end.
Bild chief reporter Tobi Altschäffl indicated that Bayern Munich is going to be patient as the transfer market develops. In addition, Altschäffl stated that Vazquez’s profile is not exactly a fit for what the Bavarians need:
Der #fcbayern ist nicht an einer Verpflichtung von Lucas Vázquez interessiert. Die Bayern wollen die Marktentwicklung abwarten, zudem passt der Spieler mit seinem Positionsprofil nicht zu den dringlichsten Wünschen des Rekordmeister.

The #fcbayern is not interested in signing Lucas Vázquez. Bayern want to wait for the market to develop, and the player with his position profile does not match the record champions’ most urgent wishes.
That news might come as a bit of relief to some Bayern Munich fans who were adamantly opposed to adding the versatile 30-year-old. While Vazquez would have been a free transfer, his age and potential salary might be two factors that would prevent Bayern Munich from making a pursuit of the player.
As a free agent, Vazquez will get a chance to seek out the next stop for his career once the 2020/2021 campaign reaches its conclusion for Real Madrid.
