Per a report from kicker, Vfb Stuttgart star winger Silas Wamangituka suffered a serious injury against Bayern Munich during Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Die Schwaben in the Bundesliga.

Wamangituka was having a fantastic season for VfB Stuttgart as he had tallied 13 goals and five assists in 27 games across all competitions this season. Even against Bayern Munich, Wamangituka was proving to be a bit of a problem before going down with that looks to be a ACL rupture:

Stuttgart’s sports director Sven Mislintat had expected “a serious knee injury” shortly after the final whistle. The fear came true on Sunday: Wamangituka tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. This was announced by VfB after an in-depth investigation.

This means that the 21-year-old Congolese will no longer be available for VfB this season and will be out for several months. The exact course of therapy will be decided in the next few days.

The diagnosis hits both Wamangituka and VfB hard, after all, with eleven goals this season and four assists, the flank player is one of the Stuttgart high-flyers this season.

For Stuttgart, a club with an outside chance at qualifying for European play, this is a devastating blow.
