When Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies picked up a red card in the 12th minute against VfB Stuttgart, Serge Gnabry took a look around and was not quite sure how the squad would respond with so much of the game left to play.
The 25-year-old Germany international, however, was quite happy to see how the team reacted to such an adverse situation as it clinched a 4-0 victory over Die Schwaben.
“It was a strange feeling at first, of course,” Gnabry said (as captured by FCBayern.com). “Especially when you still have so long to play. But after that it all went like clockwork.”
Gnabry also thinks that the resolve and grit that the Bavarians were able to show will help them in the stretch run of this season.
“I think the mood today at the game and after the game will carry us through the next few weeks,” Gnabry remarked. “We now have the international break. But after that we’re looking forward to the game against Leipzig. The game today gives us a lot of confidence.”
Gnabry, of course, had one of Bayern Munich’s goals, while Robert Lewandowski had the other three. Gnabry also had an assist on Lewandowski’s first goal.
