Per a report from journalist Nico Schira, Bayern Munich’s €25 million bid for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Dodo was rejected by the Ukrainian club.
Dodo — aka Domilson Cordeiro dos Santos — is a 22-year-old right-back from Brazil, who would seemingly have been brought in to compete with or back up incumbent starter Benjamin Pavard:
Assistant Sports Director #Shakhtar Carlo #Nicolini: “We have rejected #BayernMunich’s bid (€25M) for #Dodò. #Taison will leave at the end of the season. We have talked with #Palmeiras for #GabrielVeron. Two #SerieA clubs are looking #Trubin”. More https://t.co/8pQAUOMTam

If true, this would seem to be a rather large bid for a depth player.
Bayern Munich’s reported fascination with bringing in a right-back could mean a number of things. It could simply be a matter of needing more depth at the position, but the Bavarians also have Bouna Sarr and three more years of his contract if they cannot unload him this summer.
Or, perhaps, Bayern Munich wants to bring in a player to push Pavard. The Frenchman had a rough start to the season, but has been much better of late. Pavard could also figure into the squad’s center-back rotation at some point.
Regardless, one rejection does not necessarily mean the end of a pursuit and we’ll continue to monitor the situation.
