When a team goes a player down early on, you expect them to sit back, absorb pressure and try to beat the opposition on the counterattack. You expect chances to be few and far between.
By the time Bayern Munich started slowing things down and absorbing pressure, they were four goals to the good and the game was in the second half. A Robert Lewandowski hattrick in Bayern’s 1900th ever Bundesliga game along with a much-needed goal by Serge Gnabry sealed the deal in the first half and made the second half the Leroy Sané show. Overall, this game was one to remember and one that Bayern supporters and players alike will not forget soon.
