Per a report from kicker, both Martin Demichelis and Danny Schwarz will be promoted to manage Bayern Munich II, as current manager Holger Seitz will be returning to a management position at Bayern’s youth campus.

The promotion of Demichelis and Schwarz to the reserve team is being facilitated largely in part by Danny Galm coming in from TSG Hoffenheim to coach Bayern’s U-19s. Galm has been managing Hoffenheim’s U-17s since 2018 and his arrival at Bayern means that the U-19s will be left in good hands.

With all of the movement among managerial positions at Bayern, everything is sort of an intertwined web with Hoffenheim. First, Sebastian Hoeness left Bayern’s reserves to take the senior managerial role at Hoffenheim this summer, which saw Holger Seitz take charge of Bayern’s reserves. Now that Bayern has found Glam for their U-19s, Demichelis and Schwarz can now move on to Bayern’s reserves, while Seitz will retake a management position at Bayern’s campus.

Demichelis and Schwarz will be taking over a Bayern Munich II side that’s currently struggling to find last season’s title-winning form. Of course, there were a lot of departures before the 3. Liga season started and Bayern Munich II has experienced a handful of key injuries.

Bayern Munich II currently sits in 11th place in the 3. Liga table, 21 points behind league leaders Dynamo Dresden.

However, a bright future under Demichelis and Schwarz can be expected. Both managers are quite fond of Pep Guardiola’s style of football, which was seen at Bayern for three seasons during his time in charge of the senior team.

“I’m a team player and I’m with the U-19s to learn and gain experience. I still have time to develop, but my goal is to be a professional coach one day. Now I want to learn quickly to then to be ready at some point. Danny loves Pep Guardiola’s game philosophy as much as I do have the same game idea,” Demichelis had said at the end of the 2019/2020 season for Bayern’s U-19s (per Sport1).
