Bayern Munich’s new kit for the upcoming season has been leaked via Footy Headlines, and let’s just say it’s quite a sight.
The shirt will be red, of course, but it will utilize two different shades of red. The normal shade of bright red that fans are accustomed to will be combined with a darker shade of “Craft Red.” Here’s what the overall design looks like:
First look at the FC Bayern home kit for next season. The shirt combines the club's traditional shade of red ('FCB True Red') with the darker 'Craft Red'. Craft Red shorts and socks complete the kit. The new kit is set to be released in May [Footy Headlines] pic.twitter.com/NJK2lfCiyh

The new kit is split in two by the two shades of red, with the dark red covering the chest and sleeves, and the bright red covering the rest of the shirt. A V-shaped line divides the two colors. White accents are used for the adidas logo and stripes, which return to the shoulders after spending the previous season on the flanks.
The color is a similar combination to the 2015/2016 home kit, but this time, the dark red takes on a more prominent role in the shirt, unlike the 2015/2016 kit, which only featured the dark red on the sleeves, the stripes, and the collar.

This is the first time that Bayern will utilize two prominently different color shades in its home kit since 2017/2018, when the kit was red with white stripes. One could make the argument that the 2018/2019 home kit also used different shades of red, but that was the result of a pattern more than plays on actual color shades. This will also be the first time a rather non-traditional color (craft red) is given a predominant role since 2014/2015, when blue took center stage with the usual red.
Interestingly enough, the new kit’s design isn’t too different from Borussia Dortmund’s cup kit from last season, when the kit’s top third was metallic black and the rest was yellow. However, this seems to be a mere coincidence considering the difference in the two kits’ makers.
