Per a report from Bild (as captured by Sport Buzzer), Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger could be one of the candidates in consideration to take over for Fredi Bobic when the outgoing sporting director leaves Eintracht Frankfurt after this season.
Schweinsteiger is one of a few names allegedly on Eintracht Frankfurt’s wish list, with Hamburger SV’s Jonas Boldt being another:
According to the report, Schweinsteiger is not the only name on the Frankfurt candidate list. The SGE should also consider engaging other top managers, including Jonas Boldt from Hamburger SV. However, he had recently emphasized that he wanted to stay on the Elbe.
Currently, Schweinsteiger is working as a pundit for ARD and is expected to be one of the network’s primary analysts for this summer’s Europeans Championships which might be a good thing for his immediate future.
As of now, Eintracht Frankfurt has reportedly not reached out to Schweinsteiger to gauge his interest in the position:
According to the report, however, there was still no contact between the Frankfurters and Schweinsteiger, who last convinced as a TV expert. The question is whether the 36-year-old would even take the job if he was offered it.
Reports in Germany say former Bayern Munich and Germany star Bastian Schweinsteiger is one of the candidates to succeed Fredi Bobic as Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director.
