Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich knew the question was coming and the 26-year-old Germany international had a very diplomatic response.
When the media queried Kimmich on what he thought of the alleged heat that may exist between manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic, the 26-year-old acknowledged that he was aware of the stories circulating around the two men, but indicated that matters like that do not affect the players.
“Of course you notice what is being written and discussed outside,” said Kimmich (as captured by Tz). “At the end of the day it would, of course, be nicer given the success, if calm would return. But I think that it doesn’t burden us as a team.”
Naturally, the next question pertained to the future of Flick in Bavaria — given the manager’s recent links to the Germany national team.
“As far as I know, our coach still has a long contract,” said Kimmich. “That’s why I’m very relaxed there.”
