In a candid interview with Sport Bild (as captured by Tz), Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski spoke with Lothar Matthäus on a number of topics, including some rumors of a certain Borussia Dortmund star eventually being his successor.
So...what are Lewandowski’s comments on the thought that Erling Haaland should be the next in line for his throne?

“He’s a Borussia Dortmund player and I can’t tell you anything about his plans. What I can say is that he is a very good player,” said Lewandowski.
As far as when Bayern Munich should work to procure Haaland, Lewandowski said that is not a question he can answer. The Polish Hitman even joked about the secretive nature of Bayern Munich’s transfer planning.
“That is a question for our board, Lothar. Their work is sometimes a secret, I don’t know all the details,” Lewandowski said.
When asked specifically by Matthäus who is the best candidate to eventually replace him, Lewandowski deftly navigated through that minefield of a question with aplomb.
“The question will be: who is ready at this moment, if I really do leave FC Bayern at some point? There are great strikers at the moment, but I can’t say today who would be my perfect successor at that time,” said Lewandowski.
