Bayern scoping Inter defender Bastoni? (Transfer Market Web)
Bayern Munich has had quite a few links with Inter Milan players of late, so it should come as no surprise that the Bavarians reportedly have interest in 22-year-old center-back Alessandro Bastoni:
While Inter Milan are in advanced talks with him over a more long-lasting and improved contract, even if it means “armouring” it, almost 22-year old Italian international centre-back Alessandro Bastoni has been targeted by Bayern Munich. Atalanta alumni, worth around 45 million euros right now, is tracked by Barcelona FC and Liverpool as well.
Bastoni is a left-footed center-back, but it would seem that Bayern Munich would only have interest in a move for the Italy international if Niklas Süle joins David Alaba and potentially Jerome Boateng in leaving the club during the summer.
Lucas Hernandez is expected to hold down the fort at the left center-back spot with rumored signee Omar Richards expected to provide emergency depth (Richards is not a natural center-back). In addition, Bayern Munich acquisition Dayot Upamecano is a right-footer that allegedly prefers to play on the left-side, while Süle can play both center-back spots if he sticks around as well.
Chelsea eyeing Haaland-Werner swap deal? (Sports Mole)
Could Chelsea try pitching a swap deal to Borussia Dortmund involving Timo Werner plus (a copious amount of) cash for Erling Haaland? It appears the London club is at least thinking about making that proposal:
Chelsea are reportedly weighing up whether to offer Timo Werner to Borussia Dortmund in a player-plus-cash deal for in-demand striker Erling Braut Haaland. Haaland is a target for the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona, but Chelsea supposedly believe that they are the favourites for his signature.
Football Insider suggests that the Blues hope to convince Dortmund to cash in by offering a large cash sum, plus former RB Leipzig forward Werner, to help soften the blow. The 20-year-old has a £68m release clause in his contract that kicks in at the start of next year, but BVB are believed to be after at least £100m for his signature this summer.
Okay...a rumor involving Haaland...and Werner...together?
Flick not interested in DFB speculation (Tz)
Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick wants no parts of discussing the managerial open with Germany.
“I’ve said everything about this topic. But nothing has changed for me. I do not comment on the topic,” Flick said.
The 56-year-old manager did, however, touch on how he is dealing with rumors surrounding him.
“When I started, there was a lot more unrest here,” Flick said. “Every day it was about a different possible head coach. Still, we managed to focus on the games. There are always many topics at Bayern Munich. The team and the coaching team are always focused on the sport.”
Pulisic ready for battle in London (Sports Mole)
While multiple rumors pointed toward Christian Pulisic leaving Chelsea for Manchester United, Liverpool, or Bayern Munich, the American ace insists that he wants to stay and fight for his spot on the roster:
Christian Pulisic is reportedly ignoring rumoured interest from Liverpool and Manchester United as he instead wants to fight for his place at Chelsea. Liverpool and Man United have been tipped to step forward with an offer for the ex-Borussia Dortmund ace.
I’d still love to see Pulisic at Bayern Munich at some point, but it does not seem likely — at least as of now.
