In an interview with “Téléfoot” (as captured by Abendzeitung), Bayern Munich’s Champions League finale hero Kingsley Coman admitted that he had thought about leaving the club last summer.

That timeline should not be surprising, though. After more than a year of courting Leroy Sane from Manchester City, the Bavarians were able procure the Germany international in a move that most anticipated would relegate Coman to a reserve role.

That notion, however, died quickly as Coman has proven to be the most dangerous, consistent, and frankly best of Hansi Flick’s five options at wing (Coman, Sane, Serge Gnabry, Douglas Costa, and Jamal Musiala).

Still, Coman was leery of how things would work out for him with the position so crowded.

“Last summer I asked myself such questions,” said Coman about possibly leaving Bayern Munich. “The current situation is completely different. I feel very good, I play a lot and I get on well with the coach.”

Coman did say that he would not rule out a move in the future, but plans to fulfill his contract with the club.

“One day I might want to discover something else,” said Coman. “I have another two years contract here and I think we have the best team in Europe at the moment, so everything is ready for me to stay.”

Coman, of course, had reportedly drawn interest from Manchester United at one point, but that seems like it will not be happening in the near future.
