Bayern Munich has battled through a couple of rough stretches this season, but the squad’s results have still been fantastic overall. Still, the players in the locker room can see that things are not coming quite as easily as they did to the Bavarians during the stretch run of last season.
Ahead of the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich wing Serge Gnabry indicated that he would love to see a more consistent effort from his team — and also let it be known that the boys would not mind a few days in the warmth and sun of Qatar.
“The team is looking forward to a few days of sunshine,” said Gnabry to DAZN (as captured by Abendzeitung). “We all really wanted the tournament to take place, so we’re looking forward to it.”
Gnabry knows, though, that this is a business trip and that the focus will be on winning yet another crown.
“The goal, of course, is to win another title, that would be the sixth”, said Gnabry. “At the moment we may not be as consistent as we were last season.”
As Gnabry undoubtedly realizes, however, chasing trophies can rely heavily about timing. If Bayern Munich has put the worst of its season behind it, things could start to break the right way even more for the Rekordmeister.
