With David Alaba officially leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the year, the Bavarian club is on the lookout for a potential replacement for the Austrian for some time. Although several players were connected with a move to Bayern during the last six months, it seems that one name has remained throughout this time.
Bayern scouted Omar Richards for some time, and it seems that he will soon sign a pre-contract with the Munich-based side. The talented English full-back, who predominantly plays on the left side, will most probably arrive in July for free.

The arrival of Omar Richards will mean that Hansi Flick is planning with Lucas Hernandez as a center-back. That means that Alphonso Davies will have the undisputed starter status. Hansi Flick will also have a lot of versatility in the defense, as Niklas Sule proved himself quite good at the right-back position.
On the paper, this will be an interesting signing for Bayern, but it will remain to be seen how a Championship player will adapt to Bayern Munich’s world-class level.
