In an interview with Viaplay Football, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland talked about the phenomenon that Robert Lewandowski, one of the few men in the world that can truly beat him when it comes to scoring. Describing the Bayern Munich front-man as “crazy”, Haaland went on to reveal that he watches every game just to learn from him.
Here’s the excerpt (interview in Norwegian, with subtitles) if you want to watch it yourself:

That man is crazy. He is just crazy.
It is completely ... when I score I score a goal it’s like << one goal closer to catching up to him>>. And then he just scores another hat trick like it’s nothing. What he does is so crazy.
What can you learn from Robert Lewandowski?
A lot. Primarily, he is extremely good technically and in the buildup phase. I can learn a lot from that. I watch every Bayern match an learn a lot from them in general. It is a fantastic team. I watch them, and he is fantastic in some of the build-up plays. And his positioning ...
The combination and relations between him and the other players is ... They always know where he is, and he always manages to be there and finish the attacks. That is impressive.
Of course, if Erling admires Lewy so much, he can come over and watch him up close. I’m sure Bayern wouldn’t mind, so long as he signs the contract.
