Per a report from Sky that was corroborated by Bild, Paris-Saint Germain has made an offer for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

The Austrian, whose transfer saga has taken a multitude of twists and turns, was originally thought to be against a move to France, but perhaps things have changed:

PSG instead of Real? The French top club Paris Saint-Germain has made Bavaria’s top defender David Alaba (28) a concrete offer. “Sky” had reported about it first. SPORT BILD and BILD know: That is correct! Alaba now has the PSG option on the table.

According to “Sky”, Alaba is said to have already met with club boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi (47) to sound out a possible move to the French capital.

The fact is: Alaba will leave Bayern after the season as he did not want to extend his contract. So far, the Austrian has preferred a move to Spain. There Real Madrid was in pole position in the race for the defender. Is PSG now interfering?

For good measure, Sport Bild’s Christian Falk gave this rumor his stamp of approval:

It appears that Alaba’s primary factor in where he lands will be about the financial package being offered. Given that this will likely be the last big deal of his career, Alaba is taking his time and carefully vetting how to best maximize this opportunity at free agency.

Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Juventus are among the other top clubs in the running for Alaba.
