Alaba’s complete list of suitors (ESPN)

No one...and I mean no one wants to see Bayern Munich defender David Alaba make a decision on his future more than those of us here at Bavarian Football Works. Anyway, here is the official list of suitors for Alaba, including one that we had not heard before:

Real Madrid are the front runners. They have a verbal financial agreement with Alaba and Zahavi, sources told ESPN. Los Blancos are keen on the full-back, especially if captain Sergio Ramos, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign, does not renew and moves on.

But Austria international Alaba is listening to other offers and will decide where to go. He could easily reach the same agreement with other teams and then take his pick. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all after him, as are Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but Chelsea and Liverpool are pushing the hardest regardless of Madrid’s confidence in winning the race.

Atletico Madrid? Really? Does Atleti have the financial means to compete with some of those other power clubs? I guess we’ll find out — at some point — soon.

Without a turnaround, it will be the Haaland sweepstakes (@cfbayern)

Sport Bild chief Christian Falk is doubling down on the reports that Erling Haaland could leave Borussia Dortmund should the club not qualify for the Champions League:

We had previously heard there could be a mass exodus of players from BVB should the club not qualify.

Geez...no pressure or anything, Edin Terzić.

Barca to take a run at Moukoko (Transfer Market Web)

FC Barcelona might be readying a bid on Borussia Dortmund phenom Youssoufa Moukoko:

According to both German and Spanish sources, Barcelona FC are approaching 2004-born striker Youssoufa Moukoko. Standing out from Borussia Dortmund development-area ranks, Cameroonian-born junior hitman, already in German U20 NT circle, is currently on a deal with Bundesliga giants until June 2022, and might end up extending for the latter, thus entering their masterplan.

Speedy Canadians ready to race (South London News)

Charlton Athletic winger Liam Millar talked over his role as an inverted winger during an interview with the South London News, but when the topic shifted to his Canada national team compatriot, Alphonso Davies, Millar said he would love to take on the “Bayern Road Runner” in a race.

“We’ve never raced,” Millar said. “Every time we’ve tried to race the coach has tried to stop us. I don’t know if they don’t want one to embarrass the other. Or me to embarrass him, most likely. Who knows? Jonathan David is up there too for quickness. He might not look like he’s quick but us three in a foot race would be something to watch, for sure.”

After seeing an undermanned Canada side push the USWNT to the limit on Thursday night in a 1-0 defeat, I am getting worried that Canada is poised and ready to take over everything...soccer, speed, etc.

Frauen sign GK Leitzig (@FCBfrauen)

The Bayern Munich Frauen signed Hoffenheim goalkeeper Janina Leitzig:

Leitzig was happy to be able to make a move to the Frauen Bundesliga powerhouse.

“I’m ready for my new challenge at FC Bayern,” Leitzig said. “Here you have top conditions and the opportunity to measure yourself against the best. FC Bayern is one of the top teams in Germany and the world and plays for titles. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Leitzig’s deal is for three years and it is clear that Bayern is happy to have her.

“Janina is a highly talented and still relatively young goalkeeper,” said Jens Scheuer, head coach of FC Bayern Frauen. “She has already proven her skills in the Bundesliga and got a lot of playing time in Hoffenheim. Because of her size she is very strong, especially with high balls, is very brave and goes out with determination. We are pleased that Janina has chosen us and I am sure that she can take further steps in our development.”

Chelsea chasing Hofmann (Transfer Market Web)

Borussia Mönchengladbach star Jonas Hofmann had a good time lighting up Bayern Munich for a brace earlier this season, but could Thomas Tuchel be looking at the 28-year-old to bolster Chelsea’s roster? Maybe:

According to Bild, German international winger Jonas Hofmann (28) has been targeted by Chelsea, on Blues recently appointed manager Thomas Tuchel’s suggestion. Playing for Borussia Monchengladbach since January 2016, Hofmann was trained by Tuchel back when he was playing for both Dortmund and Mainz 05.

Bayern extends deal with Brückner (FCBayern.com)

Bayern Munich has extended its contract with U-19 right-back Angelo Brückner.

“Angelo has developed very well with us. We are convinced of his potential and are pleased that he sees his future here at FC Bayern,” said Bayern Munich campus director Jochen Sauer.

Brückner is expected to transition to Bayern Munich II for the 2021/2022 season.
