Jurgen Klinsmann captures exactly why Thomas Müller is so important to Bayern Munich

It is clear...Bayern Munich misses Thomas Müller and Jurgen Klinsmann knows exactly why.

Jurgen Klinsmann recently penned a column for ESPN where he extolled the virtues of the Champions League and proclaimed that Bayern Munich was the “team to beat.”

The column in and of itself was interesting, but Klinsmann has one particular section where he talked about just how important Thomas Müller is to the Bavarians and exactly how and why he has been so successful over the course of his career:

Another important player is Thomas Müller, who I first met more than 10 years ago when I was Bayern manager. What stood out immediately was his intelligence and decision-making; whatever he is doing, he is doing it in the simplest way possible. He is a master at connecting the dots and has this Bayern Munich “chippiness” that means he is never content. Even if he scores three goals today, he is already focused on the next game!

There are certainly many people with many opinions on Klinsmann here, but that is about as succinct a way to describe Müller as I have seen.

The former Bayern Munich and USMNT manager also went on to talk through the talent of Robert Lewandowski and why the Bavarians are so dangerous in the competition as well.
