Bayern Munich might be inching closer to securing Jamal Musiala with a new contract, but Germany could be losing its grip on the 17-year-old star.
Per a report from Sport Bild, England is working extremely hard to ensure that Musiala commits to the Three Lions for international play:
Bayern jewel Jamal Musiala (17 / born in Stuttgart, grew up in London) is still undecided for which country he wants to become a national team player. But according to BILD information, the English are working very hard — apparently more than the DFB!
So, what exactly is England doing to show Musiala it has a plan for him? Take a look:
Those responsible at the English FA and the team around national coach Gareth Southgate are already one step further. They are trying to convince Musiala with emotions and tangible facts.
The English have given him detailed information about his prospects with the Three Lions, including the positions they plan to use him in: on the wings and centrally behind the front line.
And that, together with other English super talents such as Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho (20) and Jude Bellingham (17), he should form the offense of the future.
Joachim Löw previously indicated that he could nominate Musiala for international play in March and met with the youngster personally.
