More bad news for Bayern Munich: Corentin Tolisso injured in training

Less than a week ahead of a crucial Champions League game against Lazio, the Bavarians face a massive injury crisis.

Corentin Tolisso just can’t seem to catch a break. Per Bild, the Frenchman has just suffered an injury in training, which puts him at risk of missing games against Eintracht Frankfurt and Lazio. With the midfield already looking thin, Bayern Munich seem to be getting an injury crisis at exactly the wrong time.

How Tolisso injured himself isn’t exactly clear, since the training session was carried out behind closed doors. However, a loud scream was heard from the Frenchman, and he apparently had to be driven off the pitch in a golf cart. Bayern have yet to comment on the incident.

This is bad news for Hansi Flick, since Tolisso just scored against Arminia Bielefeld last weekend and could’ve been an important player for the upcoming game against Frankfurt. With the likes of Serge Gnabry, Douglas Costa, Tanguy Nianzou, Leon Goretzka, and Javi Martinez all doubtful for the upcoming games, and key players like Thomas Muller and Benjamin Pavard ruled out due to COVID-19, the coach will have a tough time fielding a competitive lineup in the Champions League next week. A win against Lazio looks far from certain.

Hopefully, Tolisso’s injury isn’t too bad, and he returns to training quickly. The last thing Bayern needs right now is another long term absentee.
