And the hits keep on coming. Per a report from Sky Sports, Bayern Munich right-back Benjamin Pavard has tested positive for COVID-19. The illness comes at an awful time for the 24-year-old and the club alike. After scuffling for a bit, Pavard had appeared to turn things around with a few consecutive good performances, while back-up Bouna Sarr has struggled mightily when called upon.
Unfortunately for Pavard, COVID-19 could be a roadblock to his current form and progress if the report is true:

At the time this post went live, Bayern Munich had not released any official information on Pavard, but if Sky Sports hit social media with their information, it can probably be assumed that it is true.
Regardless, Hansi Flick will now have a tough task ahead of him in figuring out who can fill Pavard’s shoes. Bouna Sarr has not proven to be dependable and moving Joshua Kimmich to right-back could weaken the central midfield.
Perhaps it will be time once again to see Niklas Süle manning the outside defensive flank.
