Per a report from Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has narrowed down the search for his next club.

Plettenberg tweeted that Alaba is not “aiming” for a move to the Premier League, which means that Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool are likely all out of luck unless the Austrian changes his mind.

However, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona are back among the favorites with Real Madrid. Like this whole saga, the twists and turns are never-ending:

Obviously, the news regarding Real Madrid being the favorite is not quite new. From the beginning of this process, Los Blancos have been considered the most likely destination for Alaba. FC Barcelona, though, had fallen off-of-the-radar since its financial woes became a public issue. Paris-Saint Germain, meanwhile, was thought to be a longshot as it was reported that Alaba did not want to play in France.

For the Ligue 1 club, however, its deep pockets could play a role in Alaba’s decision-making as there have been numerous reports which state the player has some lofty salary expectations.
