In an official press conference, David Alaba confirms he will exit from Bayern Munich after 13 years with the club.

In a 4PM CET press conference today, David Alaba confirmed his exit from Bayern Munich after 13 years with the club.

While this news has been expected for quite some time with various rumors linking him all over the place whether it be Real Madrid or various Premier League clubs such as Chelsea or Liverpool, it is still jarring to see Alaba be in any other jersey than Die Roten of FC Bayern. However, in the same press conference David Alaba confirmed he does not know who he is going to be suiting up for in the following season:

Alaba will leave FC Bayern München with an exceptional list of trophies won, including being an integral starter to both the 2013 and 2020 treble-winning Bayern sides. At just 28-years-old, Alaba is in the peak of his career which makes his move even more jarring. This official decision comes on the heels of FC Bayern’s push for RB Leipzig star defender Dayot Upamecano, whom Bayern confirmed on Sunday.

Either way, I think I can speak for everyone at Bavarian Football Works when I say we wish you nothing but the best and will root for you on your next step of your career, David.
