Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller arrived back in Bavaria at 11:35PM local time yesterday, but his journey was perhaps not as luxurious as first thought.
Müller arrived in Munich in a patient transport airplane and exited the aircraft in full medical scrub attire per Bild (as captured by Tz):
Thomas Müller’s late Friday night around 23:35 landed at Munich Airport. FC Bayern organized the return trip in a private jet for the attacker infected with the coronavirus. The FCB star was already expected on the tarmac by the customs police, various airport vans, and a mobile medical team.
After completing the quarantine protocol, Müller got off the plane in a white full body suit with shoe covers, a mask and a face shield. The attacker had his luggage with him in a large garbage bag. From the plane, Müller went straight to a waiting van that transported him home — where Müller will probably have to go into quarantine first.
Honestly, the scene looked like something out of “Outbreak.” Goal journalist Ronan Murphy had some fun with the pictures:

For Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic, the whole experience was educational, as he said that he “learned a lot” from the ordeal.
“The health department tested Thomas after landing in Munich and accompanied him home, where he continues his quarantine,” Salihamidzic said.
It is extremely unfortunate for Müller and Bayern Munich alike that he tested positive at this juncture of the season, but hopefully Müller has a quick recovery and is back on the field soon enough.
