Bayern Munich’s sextuple captured the attention of many worldwide — even the higher-ups at the DFB.

“FC Bayern Munich is not only a global brand, it is now world champion for the second time,” said DFB President Fritz Keller (per DFB.de). “Six titles in one season — that is unique in German football and almost worldwide. And only achievable with exceptional players, a real team and a great coach. congratulations to Hansi Flick, his players and all those responsible and fans of FC Bayern to win the Club World Cup.”

Germany national team manager Joachim Löw was also quick to compliment Bayern Munich.

“Congratulations to FC Bayern on their sixth title under Hansi Flick, for which I’m really happy,” Löw said. “Just like for our national players, who benefit enormously from this experience in their development.”

Finally, DFB director Oliver Bierhoff, who has had a very public back-and-forth with Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, also sent his congratulations.

“FC Bayern has achieved a historic achievement and once again represented German football in an excellent way,” Biefhoff said. “That deserves great respect, I congratulate all those responsible for the association around Herbert Hainer, Kalle Rummenigge and Oliver Kahn as well as the entire team under the leadership of Hansi Flick.”
